Following up on the user survey 06.27.2011
Once again, we would like to thank all those who took the time to participate in our user survey which was carried out 23 October – 6 November this year. We are pleased to announce overall good results both with user experience and satisfaction with the Register. In addition, we received specific feed-back on areas of improvement.
Since the survey was carried out a few changes have already been put into effect:
*) It is now possible to make a search of historical information (all registered information available in our database from 1 August 1992)
*) The search criteria have been extended to also include HIN/CIN and hull number
*) All calls are being answered from 8 a.m.
The Norwegian Maritime Directorate has published an inquiry to the regulation concerning measurement of vessels less than 15 meters long. As a result, measurement of these vessels will no longer be required. Deadline to this inquiry is 1 February 2009.
Furthermore, the Register itself is aiming at introducing payment in arrears. 68 % of those who answered the survey preferred this form of payment as opposed to payment in advance.
Our focus will now be placed on improving our website and its contents, information available to all our users, service and customer relations.
As of today, all NOR cases are distributed to the case handlers according to which home port the vessel in question is or will be registered with.
Ships under construction follow the same home ports/ districts.
A list of all home ports with corresponding case handlers will be made available on our website.

Finally, we hope that all of our users understand that the above mentioned processes will be implemented over time and that all feedback is of importance in order for us to provide a better service.
