Steady increase in the NOR-register 05.05.2008
For the first time since the NOR-register was established pr. 1 August 1992, there has been registered over 100 new vessels in one month.
In April a total of 116 new vessels were registered.
19 of these were fishing vessels, while pleasure vessels topped the statistics with as many as 76 new registrations this month.
Of these 76, only 2 vessels were subject to mandatory registration- 15 meters or more.
As of 1 July 2007 the lower limit for registration of pleasure vessels was lowered from 10 to 7 meters.
We can now clearly see the effect of this amendment to the law.
During the month of April, 29 owners of pleasure vessels chose to make use of the opportunity to register vessels between 7 and 10 meters.
