The Ship Registers require documents issued abroad to be confirmed by an approved Notary Public.
The Notary needs to confirm the following:
- The identity of the person who has signed (personally signed)
AND- if the document has been issued on behalf of a company:
- The person's authority to sign for and on behalf of the company
The Notary's signature is then to be legalized by a Norwegian Foreign Service station in the country in question, or by the amendment of an Apostille by local authorities.
For further information on APOSTILLES, please see the COUNTY GOVERNOR IN HORDALAND's web pages.
Kindly note that notarial statements must be issued in a Scandinavian language, English or translated by an official translator.
